Our story so far

The Meridan Community Church (MCC) story truly is a God-breathed dream born in the hearts of our founding pastors, Doug and Marti Drinnan, over 30 years ago.

The current facility sits on 10 acres of land purchased way back in 1989 by the Drinnans. Obvious to them at the time that the land would be used for something significant, Doug began dreaming again for this parcel of land after the success of pioneering another project – Goodlife Community Church, Buderim.

In September 2015, hearing the call to begin again with a fresh vision and heart for the local community further south, Doug and Marti planted Meridan Community Church.

Meeting weekly at Meridan State College, plans to build the current centre finally broke ground six years later, with construction commencing in early 2021. Our first inaugural Sunday service in the new facility was held on 13 November 2022.

The Community Centre facilities now include a 20m pool, Café and commercial kitchen, Dance Studio, Gym, Outdoor Kids Playground, BMX pump track, 400-seat state-of-the-art auditorium, multi-purpose rooms, Kids Ministry facilities and a full-sized Futsal and Basketball courts – and more.

We are completely overwhelmed with what God has done – a vision 30 years in the making for the Meridan community and beyond. We are so excited about what God is yet to do with the amazing people and the miracle facility that is Meridan Community Centre.

Daniel and Elise Pappas are the senior pastors of Meridan Community Church. They were entrusted with the call to lead MCC into its future on 21 August 2022 with the blessing of the church and founding pastors Doug and Marti Drinnan.
